Use Backups in the Game Server Control Panel to manage recovery copies of your server files. Cyber Edge Hosting stores these backups offsite, separately from the game-server machine. A backup is a recovery point; it does not replace checking that your latest world and settings were saved.

Create and download a backup

  1. Ask players to disconnect and save the game using its normal save procedure. For a consistent copy, stop the server and wait until it is fully offline.
  2. Open Backups, then choose New backup. Wait for the backup to finish before making further changes.
  3. Use Download to keep your own copy. Store the download securely because it can contain private server data.

The page shows how many backup slots you are using. When every slot is occupied, New backup is disabled. Additional slots let you keep more recovery points; they do not change backup frequency or guarantee a particular retention period. Do not assume that backups run automatically unless you have configured and verified a schedule.

Restore carefully

Stop the server first: Restore is unavailable while it is running. Before restoring, download any newer files you need to keep. Restoring an older backup can replace newer progress and settings. Select the intended backup, read the confirmation carefully, and wait for completion before starting the server.

Use Lock to protect a backup from ordinary deletion; unlock it before using Delete. Delete only copies you no longer need. After a restore, check the console, join the game and verify the world. For help, open a Game Servers support ticket.
