3. Necessary communications and optional marketing

We use account contact details for necessary account, billing, security and service communications. These are different from optional promotional messages. We obtain permission for marketing where required and provide a way to unsubscribe from marketing; doing so does not stop necessary service communications.

Keep the account contact details current. You can review available email preferences in the Client Area or ask us for help. A website visit or acceptance of a service contract is not blanket consent to optional marketing, tracking or unrelated uses of personal information.

4. Service providers and other disclosures

We use service providers for the purposes described in the table above. Providers may also process some information for their own payment, registration, security or legal obligations under their applicable notices. A provider relationship does not mean every disclosure requires optional marketing consent; any specifically applicable consent or other legal requirement still applies.

We may disclose relevant information to comply with a lawful requirement, investigate fraud or misuse, protect our services or other people, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. An allegation alone does not give every complainant unrestricted access to private account, support or hosted information.

A third-party link or optional integration may take you to a service with its own privacy practices. Review the notice for that service. This does not remove our responsibility for the information we handle or the services we agree to provide.

5. Retention and deletion criteria

Completing a payment or closing a service does not necessarily delete all related records. We retain information for the service, billing, support, security and legal purposes described below. The applicable period depends on the record, whether the account or issue remains active, and any legal or contractual requirement or hold. We do not use account closure as a promise that every copy is immediately erased.

These criteria distinguish ongoing business records from active hosted content and provider backup copies. Contact us if you need information about a particular category or want to make a privacy request.

Record categoryRetention criterion or eventImportant distinction
Account and authority recordsThe account/service relationship, unresolved account obligations or disputes, and retention required to document the relationship or meet an applicable obligation.Closing one service does not necessarily close the account or erase records for other active services.
Invoices, transactions and refundsAccounting, tax, payment reconciliation, refund/chargeback or dispute handling, and the applicable recordkeeping requirements for those transactions.Changing a profile does not rewrite billing details preserved on existing invoices. Transaction references are different from the payment credentials used by a processor.
Tickets, attachments and service noticesResolving requests, supporting services, documenting instructions/notices and handling related disputes or obligations. The system is configured to prune attachments six months after the last activity in a closed ticket.Ticket transcripts, email copies, records held for an applicable obligation or dispute, and backup or provider copies have separate retention criteria; the attachment-cleanup setting does not determine how long those records remain.
Browser-saved ticket drafts and feature stateDraft content remains subject to the browser storage and editor cleanup behavior; the current editor removes its draft key on form submission. No fixed draft expiry or logout-erasure promise is made. Clearing local storage does not erase content already sent for Preview, suggestions or ticket submission.
Security and activity logsDiagnosing faults or misuse, investigating incidents and retaining evidence needed for security or a related claim/obligation. Module diagnostic logs are configured for pruning after 30 days. The module-log setting is not a universal period for activity, web, email or other logs, incident holds or copies held by providers.
Active hosting dataThe active service and the applicable suspension, cancellation or termination process under the applicable service agreement, subject to lawful holds and existing commitments.Suspension is not termination. The reasonable-efforts retention direction after nonpayment suspension does not create a guaranteed recovery period after voluntary cancellation or termination.
Backup copiesThe restore points actually retained for the service and the provider’s backup rotation, deletion rules and any applicable hold.Backups may expire separately from the live service. Availability after termination and a particular deletion/recovery date are not guaranteed; keep independent copies of important data.
Domain registration dataThe domain’s registration and administration needs plus the applicable registrar/registry recordkeeping and legal requirements.Cancelling hosting does not erase registration records or necessarily end the domain registration.
Chat, linked-feature and operational-alert recordsProviding the conversation, connection or operational response, related support/security needs, and the applicable local/provider retention and deletion process.Ending a chat, unlinking a customer account or closing a ticket does not itself establish deletion of historical Discord alerts, local diagnostic records or provider-held copies.
Marketing and notice preferencesThe record needed to respect your current preferences and document changes or required communications.A minimal preference record may be needed to avoid resuming unwanted marketing; it is not permission to send it.
Third-party product dataThe purchased product’s service lifecycle, applicable provider terms, export/deletion process and any required record retention.Ending one product does not establish a universal deletion period for another product or provider.

6. Hosted content, safeguards and sensitive information

You retain ownership of the content you provide, subject to the rights of others. We and our service providers access, store, transmit, copy and back it up only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure and support the service, carry out your instructions or comply with law. Hosting or submitting a private support request does not give us permission to publish that content or use it for unrelated advertising.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the services and information involved. No online system can be guaranteed free of security incidents. We provide notices and assistance required by applicable law and any agreed data processing terms.

Do not send full payment-card details, passwords or unnecessary sensitive personal information in ordinary support messages. If support work requires access to a service, ask us for the appropriate method.

7. Cookies, sessions and optional features

The website uses cookies and similar browser storage for functions such as account sessions and the cart. Integrated chat, analytics, anti-abuse, payment, review, accessibility and status features can also involve browser identifiers, preferences or other technical information. The purpose and provider matter; storage is not automatically necessary merely because it is set by our own site.

Where browser storage is available, the ticket editor is configured to save draft message text on your device so it can be available when you return to the editor, and to remove its draft key when the form is submitted. Using Preview sends the current text to our site for formatting; knowledgebase suggestions also send typed text to our site before final submission. Do not enter passwords, full payment details or unnecessary sensitive information in the ordinary message editor.

A chat feature may begin processing technical browser/session information when it loads, before you send a message. Closing or minimizing the visible widget is not the same as preventing its technical loading.

Your browser allows you to manage stored cookies and similar site storage. Blocking storage needed for a feature may prevent it from working. Browser controls do not replace any additional choice or consent required for a particular use. Contact us if you need help understanding the information involved in a feature.

8. Your information and privacy requests

You can update available account information in the Client Area. Contact support@cyberedgehosting.com to request a correction to information you cannot edit there, or to ask about access, deletion or other privacy choices. Identify the relevant account or service without sending passwords or full payment details.

We may need reasonable information to verify your identity or authority before responding. We will consider your request under the law that applies and explain any applicable limitation, such as records needed for an active service, an unresolved transaction or a required legal hold. Updating account details or requesting deletion does not cancel a service or settle an outstanding bill; use the applicable cancellation process for those requests.

Removing a saved payment method does not itself erase prior invoices, payment history or records held independently by a payment provider. A change to your current profile does not necessarily rewrite billing details already preserved on an invoice.

If your information is in a website or service controlled by one of our hosting customers, contact that operator first where appropriate. You can also contact us about misuse of our services or if you need help identifying the appropriate route.

9. Account eligibility

Service account holders must be at least 18 years old and have legal authority to enter the service agreement under the applicable service agreement. If you believe information has been submitted in a way that requires special protection, including information relating to a child, contact support@cyberedgehosting.com so we can review the situation.

10. Changes and related policies

We will identify the date of changes to this notice and provide any notice or choice required for the change. Changes affecting an existing service agreement remain subject to applicable terms and law, including applicable advance-notice and existing-customer protections. Updating this page alone does not supply consent to an unrelated new use of personal information.

Our applicable service, billing and website terms govern purchased services, billing, service closure and browsing. Those terms do not replace any privacy right that applies to you.
