Your Ground Branch service is managed through the Game Server Control Panel. You do not need to install server software or configure the hosting machine yourself.

Start and join

  1. Select your Ground Branch server and open Startup. Set the Server Name you want players to recognize, then save.
  2. Open Console and click Start. The initial load can take longer than an ordinary restart. Let it finish rather than repeatedly pressing Restart.
  3. Copy the assigned connection details from Overview or Console. Keep both the IP and port when sharing an address; servers on the same machine can use different ports.
  4. Launch the Steam PC version of Ground Branch. Open its server browser, refresh, and search for the name saved in Startup.
  5. Join the server and enter the join password if one has been configured. Check that you reach the ready room and can start or enter the intended mission.

First administrator setup

If no administrator has been configured, the game can generate GroundBranch/ServerConfig/AdminSetupPassword.txt. The Ground Branch template instructions explain this setup flow.

Only the service owner should read that file privately in Files. After joining, open the game's console and use admin setup <setup-password> with the private value. This grants administrator privileges to your player account; do not give the setup password to everyone joining. If the file is absent, an administrator may already exist—contact support rather than resetting the configuration.

If joining or the first mission fails, open a support ticket and choose Game Servers. Include your service number, the exact message, time, and whether the server is visible in the browser. Do not include the administrator setup password or change the managed query/game ports.
