This guide covers the Cyber Edge Hosting Wreckfest server for Steam on PC. Use the same game version as the server. Wreckfest 2 is a separate game and cannot join a Wreckfest server.

Start your service

  1. Sign in to the Game Server Control Panel and select your Wreckfest server.
  2. Open Startup. Set a recognizable Server Name. To restrict joining, set Server Password and share it privately with your players. A blank password allows public joining.
  3. Save the fields you changed. Open Console, start the server, and allow it to finish loading and connect to Steam.
  4. Note the assigned IP and game port shown by the panel. These identify your service if support needs to investigate; do not substitute the website or control-panel address.

Find and join the lobby

  1. Launch Wreckfest through Steam and open Multiplayer.
  2. Use the Internet server browser. Refresh it and include empty or password-protected servers in your filters.
  3. Find the name saved in Startup, select it and join. Enter the current server password if prompted.
  4. Wait for the lobby and event to load, choose a compatible vehicle, and complete a short driving test. Disconnect and reconnect once before inviting your group.

The first person to join is not automatically granted owner privileges on our setup. Normal event countdowns do not require you to make every player an administrator.

If the server appears but joining fails, recopy the current password from Startup and retry once. If it still fails, open a support ticket and choose Game Servers with your service number, error wording, time and whether the failure occurs before or after the password prompt. Avoid reinstalling to troubleshoot a connection problem.

For background on the game's configuration, see the Wreckfest developer's dedicated-server guide.
