Cyber Edge Hosting's Python bot plans run your own code on Python 3.13. Choose Python when ordering; contact support if an existing service needs a different runtime. You supply the bot application, code and Discord token.

Prepare and upload your project

  1. Create your bot application in the Discord Developer Portal and install it into your Discord server with only the permissions it needs.
  2. Open the service in the game control panel. Stop it before replacing files and back up any existing code, configuration and saved data.
  3. Upload your project through Files or the panel's SFTP details. Put the entry file and dependency list in the server's main folder, without an extra enclosing folder. Do not upload your computer's virtual environment.
  4. Include a requirements.txt listing the packages your code uses, with versions you have tested on Python 3.13. For example, a discord.py project needs the discord.py package. Do not name your own script discord.py, because it would hide the library. See the discord.py quickstart and pip requirements guidance.

Configure Startup and your token

Under Startup, set Python entry file to your relative filename, such as app.py, and Requirements file to requirements.txt. Leave Install dependencies on start at 1. These fields take filenames, not shell commands.

Store your token privately in the configuration file your code expects. Python does not automatically load .env. If your project uses it, include python-dotenv in requirements and call load_dotenv() before reading the matching environment variable. Never print the token or put it in Startup, checkout fields, tickets or a public repository. Only trusted users should have access to these files.

Start and verify

Click Start and watch Console while dependencies install. Console shows your bot's output; it is not an operating-system shell. The panel's “Starting customer bot process” message only confirms launch. Wait for your bot's own ready message, test a command in Discord, then restart once to confirm it returns online.
