Your Team Fortress 2 service is a community dedicated server. Use the assigned address to join it directly; ordinary matchmaking does not select your privately rented service for you.

Start the server

  1. Open the Game Server Control Panel and choose your Team Fortress 2 server.
  2. Open Startup. Set Server Name and, if you want a private game, Server Password. Keep the initial default map for the first test and save any changed fields.
  3. Return to Console, click Start, and wait for the map to load.
  4. Copy the assigned IP and game port from Overview or Console. Include the exact port, even if you recognize the IP from another service.

Join from Team Fortress 2

  1. Launch the updated Steam PC game.
  2. Open the community server browser. Under Favorites, add the assigned address and connect. Enter the join password if requested.
  3. Alternatively, enable the developer console in the game's advanced keyboard options, open it, and enter connect IP:PORT, replacing IP and PORT with your service's values.
  4. Choose a team, spawn and play briefly. Disconnect and reconnect to check that the address and access settings work consistently.

Use the game port for joining. The additional client and SourceTV ports serve different purposes and are managed by Cyber Edge Hosting.

If the server is absent from public search, try Favorites or the direct connection first. Do not assume that a missing listing means the service is offline, or share a Steam login token to get help.

If connection still fails, open a support ticket and choose Game Servers with your service number, exact error, time and whether a password prompt appeared. Keep administrative passwords and tokens private. Steam's game-server account page is the official place to manage a token if your setup needs one.
